  1. Mix all dry masalas, first seven ingredients and mix. Slowly add water, do not add all together as otherwise besan (chick pea flour) tends to get sticky. Make it into firm dough
  2. Now, take a small ball of the dough and roll it into 1/2 inch thick cylindrical shape and cut in small pieces
  3. Now take a pot and boil water in it. Take enough water to put all the above made rolled gatte in it. Now, add the gatte in the boiling water. For about 15 minutes, drain the gatte out of water. Do not throw water as we will use it for the gravy...
  4. In a pan, add oil then add Cumin Seeds (jeera) and let them splutter. Now, add ginger and garlic sauté for 1-2 minutes, Add Coriander, chilli, garam masala, amchur and onion sauté for 2-3 minutes, then add tomato and let it completely blend to the spices
  5. Add the yogurt to the mixture and cook till it starts boiling and separating oil. Add the gatte pieces in and cook for 10 -1 2 minutes,
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and Serve with hot Roti or Parantha / Rice Enjoy.
  7. NOTE: You can make Gatte before hand and freeze them. Just put them in boiling water to thaw before use
